God’s protection in the midst of natural disasters: Our work and mission in Kenya
The bridge that gave us access to the school was swept away by the floods today, just half an hour after we crossed it. We are deeply grateful for God’s care and protection in this dangerous situation.
Kenya repeatedly experiences natural disasters such as floods, especially during the rainy season (source:[1]). These floods often lead to the destruction of infrastructure, such as roads and bridges, making it difficult to access basic services such as education and health. In such situations we put our trust in God and know that he will guide us through these challenges.
As a Christian organisation, we strive to help the needy in Kenya by building sanitation facilities for schools, safe houses for girls and promoting Christianity. An important aspect of our work is to distribute Bibles to school children who could not otherwise afford them, giving them access to valuable religious texts and educational opportunities.
We would like to invite you to support our mission by donating voluntarily to our projects in Kenya. Every donation, big or small, helps us improve the lives of those who need help the most. May God bless you and give you His overflowing peace.
We support girls who have fled forced marriage and circumcision.
In Ortum, we are unfortunately personally and first-hand confronted with forced marriage and female circumcision in the region. We were deeply shocked to meet girls who are directly affected or who had to seek shelter in school from the villages in order not to be forcibly married.
The prerequisite for marriage is circumcision of the female genitalia. Although this practice has been banned in Kenya for years and is punishable by imprisonment, it is still practised in remote areas. It is true that young girls from the age of 9 are forced to marry old men in exchange for wealth. This is an “offer” that many poor families cannot resist.
Would you like to donate the school fees for a girl in Ortum?
